Lace Guild Membership
Welcome
We welcome new members. You do not have to know anything about lace to join the Lace Guild, but a good helping of enthusiasm for lace is a good start. You may like to learn more about lace or perhaps learn how to make lace.
Membership Benefits
- Australian Lace, The Guild Journal is published quarterly and is available to members as a printed magazine, an electronic version, or both. Members can choose to receive both formats or opt for the electronic-only version at a reduced membership fee. Starting in the 2024–2025 membership year, international members will only have access to the electronic version.
- Newsletters from the State or Territory Branches are also sent to members.
- Qualifications known as Proficiencies in lacemaking are available to members.
- Workshops at state and national level are organised for members.
- Competitions with prizes are held for members.
Nimble Fingers Award – for junior lacemakers
Triennial Award which is held every three years. 2027’s theme is “Great Southern Sky” - Grants and scholarships are available to members.
- Annual Lace Conference The highlight of the year for a lot of lace makers is the annual conference week. A great time to catch up with old friends from all over the country and to make lots of wonderful new friends.
- Meetings are held by State Branches and Groups

- If you receive a printed magazine, you can request a download link by emailing the Magazine Editor.
- The membership year runs from 1 August to 31 July.
- Concessional membership is available to Australian Government pension holders and full-time students; details must be provided on the membership form.
- Overseas members receive magazines online via a link sent by email.
- A joining fee applies to all new members, and a late fee is charged for renewals after 30 September.
- Members are automatically affiliated with their local branch but may choose to join another. Members in the ACT and NT should specify their preferred branch.
