Each year, the Australian Lace Guild proudly celebrates the creativity and skill of young lacemakers through the Nimble Fingers Award. Open to all lacemakers under 18 years of age, this award invites participation from members and non-members alike. The entry form and further information for the Nimble Fingers Award for 2026 can be found here.

Established in 1996, the Nimble Fingers Award was created to recognise and encourage the talent of young lacemakers across Australia. This prestigious award is presented annually at our conference, offering a platform for budding artists to shine.

As the Nimble Fingers Award turns 30 in 2026, a retrospective exhibition will be held at the National Conference in Perth.  Anyone who has participated in the Nimble Fingers Award over the past 30 years is invited to submit a piece of their lace making for the exhibition.

If you continue to make lace, you may wish to exhibit one of your recent pieces of work.  Alternatively, if you still have your entry from the Award, you are most welcome to include this work as well.

Download the Nimble Fingers retrospective entry form to enter the Exhibition. Entry Forms must be submitted to the Awards Coordinator by 31st August 2026.  Further details concerning the deadlines for submitting your lace can be found on the Entry Form.
