Bibliography by Helen Bell and Beth McCasland.
Helen Bell has been a member of ALG since 1987 and also a member of the Lacemakers of Puget Sound. This bibliography was co-authored with fellow LPS member, Beth McCasland.
It was prepared for the Annual Lace Day, held by LPS, in October 2015. The speaker at the Lace Day was Tames Allen, a Living History presenter. Tames gave her presentation on the life of a Tudor period woman, from the perspective of a courtier and also a commoner.
To support the performance, Helen and Beth collaborated to produce a bibliography that covers both early laces and costume of the time and copies were available to attendees of the Lace Day.
The list is by no means exhaustive and is continuously added to, as new resources are found.
The Lacemakers of Puget Sound have graciously given permission for Helen and Beth to share their work with members of the Australian Lace Guild.
The photographs of lace illustrating the Bibliography are sourced from Helen’s personal collection of photographs of lace made by her mother, Elizabeth Ligeti, who is also a member of the Australian Lace Guild.
